On the 5th of November 2024, the UK Young Academy invites Wales’ emerging talent from academia, industry, medicine, education, business, the arts and other professions to join them in Cardiff for an afternoon of networking and leadership skills development.

The afternoon will begin with lunch and networking with members of the UK Young Academy, Welsh Crucible and Learned Society of Wales Early Career Researchers Network. Lunch will be followed by a workshop focusing on developing strong leadership skills to become a future industry leader. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear from members of the UK Young Academy on their experiences of being a member and how to develop a successful membership application for the UK Young Academy.

Why Attend?

• Grow your Research Network: Meet with other researchers and professionals from across the UK and work together to share insights and expertise on issues that are important to you.
• Develop your Leadership Skills: The workshop aims to provide you with the tools you need to develop your leadership skills, and to empower you to take on increased responsibility in your job and further afield.

Travel

The UK Young Academy will cover all travel expenses associated with attending the event, including fuel costs, per their travel and expenses policy. If you plan to travel by public transport, you can purchase your ticket directly and claim via expenses or the UK Young Academy can book the ticket through their travel agent.
