Whither a British Constitution
24 March, 2016
The full text of this year’s SWIEET2007 William Menelaus Memorial Lecture is now available.
The lecture offered a personal reflection by Sir Emyr Jones Parry, President of the Learned Society of Wales, on the present UK constitutional challenges, and implications the forthcoming EU referendum and Wales.
In his talk Sir Emyr argues for a new federal structure including a written constitution that preserves the unity of the United Kingdom, while better reflecting the distribution of powers and different responsibilities of Westminster and the UK devolved legislatures.
