Huw Edwards was elected a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales in May 2023. All elected Fellows are bound by a Code of Conduct. In light of the guilty plea submitted by Huw Edwards, the Society announced on 31 July 2024 it would be reviewing his fellowship following our established procedures.

On 1 August 2024, Huw Edwards resigned from the Learned Society of Wales.
